About Me

I am a geek by day working with SQL Server Management Studio and Visual Studio. Sounds boring? Well, I'm a geek...I love it! Crazy as it sounds, I like reading technical documentation to learn stuff. I guess that's good since I work in IT and have to always learn new things to solve problems thrown at me. I have read technical docs on photo editing programs, Microsoft SQL Server, Visual Studio and probably a lot more things that would bore you.

But, I really value myself as a mother and wife. I have two sons with gorgeous eyes. Shepard (9) is the Thinker. Vance (3) is the Stinker. Don't let them fool you. While Shepard is the Thinker, he can also be a stinker. And though Vance is the Stinker, he is also a pretty smart little guy. My husband is a genius. Never will I meet anyone who I adore as much as him. He is my best friend. My husband is also a pastor. We maintain a pretty busy life between me working full-time, him being a full-time pastor (and all the meetings that come with it) and our two boys. Life is full, but I don't think I would have it any other way.


I am a crafty person. I bought the Santa suit above online, but I despised the cheapo beard that came with it, so I made my own Santa beard. I made the entire elf suit. I spent about $7.00 on felt and a stretchy ribbon/cord and sewed the whole thing by hand because my sewing machine and I do not get along. I thought the machine needed to be junked, but it worked just fine for my mother-in-law. Hmm...I guess I'm the problem.

But, my passion is crochet. I have a fun, creative side. I love crafts of all kinds and I knit and crochet. I have to keep knitting projects small and AWAY from home or else the Stinker gets ahold of the needles and starts drumming on everything (and I, sadly, have lost my work). I think I can make pretty much anything I want.

I guess the last thing about me is that I'm a lifelong learner. I want to learn something new every day. I live my life by this Picasso quote:


And, I cannot leave out the fact that I am a Christian. I cannot imagine where I would be if it were not for the saving grace of Jesus, the outpouring of love from the Father and the continuous work of the Holy Spirit in my life. My life has quite the story and I plan to write a book about it some day. The last thing I want you to know about me is my favorite scripture of all time and it applies in every single situation and will change your life so much if you soak it in and obey:
